Description:

A World War II era blue wool U.S. Navy uniform for a little boy, including tunic, trousers, neckerchief, and cap, certainly made for the child of a military family. The original ‘crackerjack' type trousers bear seven black buttons depicting an anchor at the front opening. The left arm features a sewn-on patch depicting an embroidered bird on a perch above two crossed anchors and three red chevrons, indicating rank of a Chief Petty Officer. As is standard with Navy dress uniforms, the tunic bears white piping at the cuffs and along the border of the back flap. The 36 in. long neckerchief is made of black silk. The blue wool cap, marked ‘U.S. NAVY' at the bottom band, bears a maker mark of Albert of New York at the interior, the original tag from the maker is also still present. The ribbon to the back of the cap displays some wear, as well as the neckerchief at one end. No holes, tears, staining, or fading to the trousers and tunic. Overall, very good.
