Scarce partly-printed D.S. 1p. folio on vellum, Washington, Dec. 26, 1884, an appointment of George Bell as Assistant Commissary General of Subsistence with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Countersigned by ROBERT TODD LINCOLN as Secretary of War. Usual folds, one which affects signatures only slightly, with bright, distinct engravings, else fine condition. From the B. T.
