Charles Norris 1784-1856 American naval officer who served with Decatur in the Tripolitanian War, instrumental in the escape of the Constitution during the War of 1812, and a Navy Commissioner. L.S. 1p 4to. as Navy Commissioner, Washington, Aug. 7,1835, to Comm. Baron in Philadelphia. Interesting content concerning the procurement of knees used in shipbuilding, with technical aspects. Two file holes in blank left margin, otherwise very good.
