(1934-2017) Drifter whose 'family' committed the infamous Tate-LaBianca murders in 1969. A.L.S. 'Easy Charles MacManson', 2pp. 4to., Corcoran, 1997, sent to his biographer Nuel Melton regarding money and cars. In part: '...I thought you had money, I forgot you like to spend it as well as make it...Do you want me to send you some spare change you can get a bottle of wine. Hobo Mel midnight train I love it. Look kid you know how we do it in left field. I can only spend 35 bucks a month and I got at least 5 or 6 hundred on the books...This letter I got from Smith surprise me, never know you not to have at least 2 jobs but then it's been a while since I looked outside. Hard times. You know the ways of cars and stuff like that. Can I check with the D.M.V. and find out where my old cars trucks and buses are now I've had in the past. I got a 1941 dodge power wagon...' Boldly signed at the conclusion. An individual, possibly a Manson family member, has added an additional post-script addressed to Emmons, adding 'Thanks for the $50.00. I appreciate it a lot! Easy - ME -' Accompanied with a hand addressed envelope. Fine condition. From a grouping of Manson's letters in the estate of his biographer NUEL (MELTON) EMMONS (1927-2002), who had once been jailed with and later befriended Manson. He co-wrote 'Manson in His Own Words.'

Shipping

Shipments are sent via FedEx and DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option. Due to complications from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we will ship with USPS Priority Mail only if the buyer submits their request to us in writing and accepts responsibility for delayed shipments. Signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Please contact us for an estimate before bidding NOTE: Large, heavy or bulky items may not be shipped by the auctioneer - arrangements for shipping of these items via a third-party shipper may be arranged through the auction house. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee. Please allow 2-3 weeks for shipments after receipt of payment due to the high volume of packages being shipped.
