CHARLES MANSON
(1934 - 2017) Drifter whose 'family' committed the infamous Tate-LaBianca murders in 1969. A.Ms.S., 5pp. 4to., California, Dec. 9, 1985, to his biographer, Nuel Melton, who had once been jailed with and later befriended Manson. In part: '...we are brothers going one way but you never tell me nothing - you never sent that address - Did you get any of the tapes...dreamed you and I and some other people were in the woods by a lake a card table up [?] and I was drinking some thing I think it was scotch and I was bitching about how cheep the suit was and I was shaved and we seem to be back in the 50's but we were the same age...I've got 3 offers to do stuff. A French film ca and KABC in LA and that 57 type thing keeps coming back - I got a good offer for the guitar so I'm sending it out...When [?] City gits to Sacramento you will smell my flesh burning all the way to the lake...Mel not in 50 life times could you believe wgat this place has feel to...' Manson continues his letter talking about the conditions he endures while in prison, and signs 'Easy Manson' with swastika. Accompanied by handwritten envelope. Small stain on the bottom left of letter that bleeds into the second page, else fine.
