CHARLES MANSON
(1934-2017) Drifter whose "family" committed the infamous Tate-LaBianca murders in 1969. Rare partly-printed D.S. 1p. oblong 12mo., Aug. 22, 1969, his "Monopoly" check drawn on the Home Savings Bank of America from Corcoran Prison ordering a $100.00 payment to "Charles Manson", signed by him on bottom and again on verso endorsing the check. Fine condition. On Aug. 22, 1969, just a few weeks after the Tate-LaBianca murders, Manson and Stephanie Schramm were arrested at the Spahn Ranch after being set up by Frank Retz and Donald "Shorty" Shea, who wanted the "Manson Family" off the ranch property. Shea was later murdered by Manson.
