(1934 - 2017) Drifter whose 'family' committed the infamous Tate-LaBianca murders in 1969. Great self-reflective A.L.S. "Manson" with characteristic swastika, 3pp. 4to., Vacaville, CA, Feb. 19, 1981, writing to his biographer Nuel Emmons, reading in part: "...I guess I seem cold to you, maybe I am - 46 years old & my hall [whole] lifes been for nothing before I even realized what it was - I don't feel bitter but I do feel cold & like I'm in a different place from everybody else - I'm supost to do so much + I've got so many people pushing me to do this and do that & I can't get out of the cell to do anything...doing something that may fall back on me - Each time it falls back on me I reflect it & it makes me look like a raving mad manic...I've been on the job over 30 years & want to retire - I've served the WILL of all in the truth 24 hours a day for well over 30 years..." Folds, else very good. Sold with transmittal envelope, bearing Manson's signature with swastika in the mailing address. From the estate of Manson's biographer NUEL (MELTON) EMMONS (1927-2002), who had once been jailed with and later befriended Manson. He co-wrote 'Manson in His Own Words'.
