Description:

CHARLES MANSON (1934-2017) Drifter whose "family" committed the infamous Tate-LaBianca murders in 1969. Fine content letter A.L.S., 2pp. legal folio, Vacaville, Dec. 17, 1979 to "Red" (his name for Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme) and "Mel" (his biographer, Nuel Melton (Emmons). Expecting Melton to show this letter to Fromme , Manson writes, in part: "Mel...is & has been on the same road I've been on all my life...& been like a brother...he is good & bad & would use us in a minit but like him like me I do the same thing...Mel knows me better than peet...I feel as long as we can be of serves to Mel he will do & help us...Do you want to help him wright some kind of book he wants to be rich & beyond that maybe we can touch his soul enough to make a good friend...Mel can you do with some songs?...Mel Red wrote a book and Bobby wrote a book - they might help you to do your book..." Fine, with transmittal envelope. From the estate of Manson's biographer NUEL (MELTON) EMMONS (1927-2002), who had once been jailed with and later befriended Manson. He co-wrote "Manson in His Own Words".
