Charles Lindbergh 1902-1974 American aviator who, in his "Spirit of St. Louis", was the first to fly solo non-stop across the Atlantic Ocean. Very early A.L.S. "Charles" on the verso of a postcard showing the battleship Illinois, Washington, May 29, 1914 to a friend in Little Falls. Twelve-year-old Lindbergh writes: "Hope to be with you soon now it was 95 in the shade here yesterday Charles". some soiling otherwise very good.
