Description:

CHAIRMAN MAO AND THE PROMOTION OF HIS PUBLISHED SAYINGS
Good lot of three large and vibrant Chinese political posters includes: "Long Live the Great Marxism, Leninism, and Mao Zedong Thought!" (Shanxi: Shanxi People's Publishing House), 1971, 30" x 42", a face-forward depiction of Mao Zedong standing before a large red flag emblazoned with the portraits of Josef Stalin, Vladimir Lenin, Friedrich Engels, and Karl Marx, with the joyous Chinese masses in the background. Minor chipping, toning, and small tears at the edges, else very good. WITH: "We Are Not Afraid of Hardship or Death" (no publisher or date), 28" x 42", a depiction of three Chinese workers and soldiers, two clutching their copies of Mao Zedong's "Little Red Book", while the third points resolutely forward, with a larger group of equally determined looking proletarians in the background. Folds, some small tears at the edges, else very good. WITH: "Firmly Grasp the Great Revolutionary Denunciation" (Shanghai: Shanghai No. 3 Publishing House), 1969, a depiction of a worker in a steel mill reading fervently from Mao's "Little Red Book", as his fellows workers brandish their own copies over their heads in the background. Folds, some chipping and small tears to the edges, else very good. Three pieces.
