CARTOONISTS
Fine lot of two A.L.S.'s and five T.L.S.'s by some of the most successful cartoonists of the twentieth century, all written on their personal letterheads with several containing excellent content and one with an original pen and ink drawing. Includes: CHARLES ADDAMS, scarce A.L.S. 1p. 8vo. Nov. 3, 1967 on letterhead of The New Yorker Magazine, in part: "...I suppose it is a lonely occupation - but one gets used to it and in a way enjoys the personal anonymity..."; CHESTER GOULD, fine A.L.S. with an original drawing of Dick Tracy and a self-caricature of the cartoonist, 1p. 4ro., March 1, 1968, Woodstock, Il. on Dick Tracy letterhead, in part: "...My hope is that I may never let you down - and believe me a reader like yourself deserves the best...". SCHULZ, T.L.S. 1p. 8vo., on personal letterhead with printed images of Charlie Brown and Snoopy, in part: "...I am pleased to know that you enjoy the comic strip so much, and I hope you will continue to enjoy it for many years to come..."; AL CAPP, scarce T.L.S. 1p. 8vo., Feb. 6,1968 on Lil' Abner letterhead thanking the recipient for his very nice letter. Capp is uncommon in letters during his anti-war period; MILTON CANIFF, T.L.S 1p. 4to., Feb. 16, 1968, on personal letterhead, in part: "...I am hoping that Steve Canyon and company will continue to give you a few moments of diversion each day..."; MORT WALKER, T.L.S. 1p. 4to., Greenwich, Aug. 22, 1972, in part: "...Quite a few fans tell us how much they enjoy Beetle Bailey, Hi and Lois and Boner's Ark....", and ERNIE BUSHMILLER , T.L.S. 1p. 4to., Stamford, Conn.
