Description:

CARLOS HATHCOCK SIGNED N.V.A. PITH HELMET
(1942 – 1999) USMC sniper with a service record of 93 confirmed kills. His record and the extraordinary details of the missions he undertook made him a legend in the Marine Corps. He was honored by having a rifle named after him: a variant of the M21 dubbed the Springfield Armory M25 White Feather. A unique signed item, a rare green cloth-covered N.V.A.-issue pith helmet with plastic liner, lacking emblem at front and with some insect damage within but not showing on the outside. Hathcock signs the rear apron of the helmet in blue ballpoint before our consignor's father at an SOS Show years ago: 'Carlos N. Hathcock II G4/SGT USMC' Hathcock steadfastly refused to sign North Vietnamese items, but was 'made an offer he couldn't refuse' by the recipient who sold him a Luger for pennies on the dollar in exchange for his signature!
