CARL RUNGIUS
(1869-1959) American wildlife painter known for his depictions of Western big game animals within their natural environment. A rather curious S.P. 7" x 9" sepia, showing a gentleman and inscribed by him to noted zoologist and conservationist Dr. William T. Hornaday. Signed "Elbert Joseph" [?], dated 1929. Matted to an 11" x 14" sheet, and signed on sheet below image by Rungius: "To Dr. William Hornaday my friend and best friend in America! Carl Rungius Feb. 19th 1937". Along with an original 8" x 10" sepia photograph of Peter A. Juley's most famous image of Rungius showing him in a seated pose with paintbrushes in hand, in original envelope. Very good condition.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
