BYRON DE LA BECKWITH
(1920 - 2001) American white supremacist and Klansman who in 1994 was convicted of assassinating civil rights leader Medgar Evers. Large lot of signed items and other associated relics, includes: Ledger book containing approx. 160 checks from the Pioneer Bank of Chattanooga, all signed in full by Beckwith and dated between June, 1994 and March, 1998. The checks have each been taped to their respective register after being returned to Beckwith. Notable recipients include: fellow white supremacist and convicted church bomber Jesse B. Stoner, who has endorsed the verso of the check; De La Beckwith''s wife, Thelma Neff; the anti-Semitic conservative advocacy group Liberty Lobby; the Michael G. New Defense Fund; and various other family members. All generally very good. WITH: Signed book, "Glory in Conflict: A Saga of Byron De La Beckwith", by R.W. Scott (Camden, Arkansas: Camark Press), 1991, 284pp.8vo., signed and inscribed on a sticker affixed to the dedication page: "Warmest regards & best wishes, Byron De La Beckwith VI". Very good. WITH: Collection of six neckties, all worn by Beckwith during his final trial for Evers'' assassination in 1994. The ties feature a variety of patterns and materials. All are fine.
