AARON BURR (1756 - 1836) Vice President under Jefferson with whom he had been tied in the Presidential election of 1800, defeated through the efforts of Alexander Hamilton, whom he later killed in a duel. A.L.S. as Senator, 1p. 4to., [n.p.] Mar. 7, 1794 to an unnamed recipient explaining, in part: "...For the last month I have been very much occupied by public business. You will need no other proof of it than I tell you that nearly twenty unanswered letters are now on my desk...I have not even been to the Theater except about one hour & then it was more an errand of business than amusement...". Weak fold reinforced with period paper on verso, otherwise very good. $300-400
