721. AMBROSE E. BURNSIDE (1824-1881) Union major general who is known for the disastrous charges made at Fredericksburg in 1862, and the nicknaming of distinctive facial hair. Partly-printed D.S. 1p. 8vo., New York, Jan. 27, 1869, a one hundred share stock certificate issued to Burnside by the Indianapolis & Vincennes Railroad Co. and signed by him as President at bottom.
