BROWNING MACHINE GUN FEED BOX PATENT
JOHN M. BROWNING (1855 - 1926) American firearms designer who developed myriad varieties of weapons, cartridges, and gun mechanisms, many of which are used in the U.S. military and elsewhere to this day. He is arguably one of the most important figures in the development of modern automatic and semi-automatic firearms. Typed document in a legal file folder, 48pp. legal folio in English with French translation, Aug. 3, 1926 concerning Browning obtaining the French patent for his U.S. Patent 83,584, to wit: "Application, Serial No. 225386... Feed Box for Machine Guns" and minutely described within: "an automatic machine gun of the Browning type, and the invention relates more particularly to a magazine of the type adapted to contain a cartridge feed belt which is withdrawn therefrom by means of the mechanism of the gun... " There is also one French patent permit with stamps. The box and its advantage are fully described, but no drawing was required nor included.
