A nice lot of four items by British royalty and politicians, includes: VICTORIA, manuscript D.S. "Victoria R", 2pp. legal folio, London, Mar. 17, 1843, regarding a "…Bill of Indictment..." and appointing lawyers to the accused. Boldly signed at top with blind-embossed seal at left. Mounting strip to verso, else very good; WILLIAM IV, A.L.S. 1p. 4to., Busby House, Dec. 29, 1829, to a gentleman, in part: "…The bearer's young Jemmete whom you have so kindly appointed adjutant Surgeon to the Twelfth Light Dragoons - I am to thank you for this mark of attention to me…". Very good; WILLIAM GLADSTONE, A.N.S. 1p. oblong 8vo., House of Commons, July 3, 1840, admitting a bearer to the Gallery. Boldly penned and mounted; and THE EARL OF CARDIGAN, English general who led the "Six Hundred". Bold signature "Cardigan", on a slip taken from a letter. Four items, very good overall.
