(BRITISH PRIME MINISTERS)
Good group of three signed items, all executed by British prime ministers, includes: WILLIAM GLADSTONE (1809-1898) British Liberal statesman and earlier Conservative politician. In a career lasting over 60 years, he served as Prime Minister four separate times, more than any other person. Signature in black ink on a 4 1/2" x 3 1/2" greeting card from Gladstone''s estate, Hawarden Castle in Chester. Gladstone also adds the greeting "With best wishes" and the date Jan 12. 90." The card is matted with a b/w photo portrait of Gladstone, else very good. WITH: DAVID LLOYD GEORGE (1863 - 1945) British Prime Minister given wide-ranging powers during World War I, his meetings with Irish leaders resulted in the founding of the Irish Free State. Cut signature, 4 1/2" x 1 1/4", with the first letter intersecting a blind-embossed House of Commons seal. Another hand has added an ink identifying inscription at bottom left, and the signature has been mounted to a card backing and matted with a b/w photo portrait of Lloyd George, else very good. WITH: ANTHONY EDEN (1897-1977) British Conservative politician who served three periods as Foreign Secretary and then a relatively brief term as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1955 to 1957. Resigned due to backlash over the Suez Crisis. S.P., 6 1/2" x 8" b/w, a press photo showing a chest-up view of a smiling Eden, with his signature in blue ink at lower right. The photo is matted, else very good. Three pieces.

Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Please contact us for an estimate before bidding NOTE: Large, heavy or bulky items may not be shipped by the auctioneer - arrangements for shipping of these items via a third-party shipper may be arranged through the auction house. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
