BRITISH PITH HELMETS
Good lot of four British-made pitch helmets, includes: Early 20th-century civilian-style khaki pith helmet, manufactured from "sola pith", a very light Indian swamp plant, by Whiteaway Laidlaw & Co., and showing their label embossed in red leather in the interior. Shows soiling, with some softening to the pith, else very good. WITH: Mid-century civilian-style pith helmet manufactured from sola, with a khaki exterior and green lining, bearing a British Khaki manufacturer''s label beneath a plastic sweat shield. Shows some exterior soiling, else very good. WITH: Modern production white Foreign Service-style helmet, manufactured of cork, bearing the label of retailer Thos. Townsend & Co. Limited of London printed on the interior lining. Shows some exterior soiling, else very good. WITH: Modern production white custodian-style helmet, bearing a Royal Marines Gibraltar hat badge at the front, and the label of a London maker, a hand-inscribed serial number in ink, and a size stamp incorporating the date "1981" on the interior. Shows interior and exterior soiling and crackling, with a finial missing from the crown, else very good.

Shipping

Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Please contact us for an estimate before bidding NOTE: Large, heavy or bulky items may not be shipped by the auctioneer - arrangements for shipping of these items via a third-party shipper may be arranged through the auction house. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee. Please allow 2-3 weeks for shipments after receipt of payment due to the high volume of packages being shipped.
