BRITISH "LOOSE LIPS" POSTERS
Good pair of original British World War II "Loose Lips" posters, each warning of the dangers of inadvertently revealing important military information to enemy spies. Includes: Broadside-sized poster, 10" x 15", featuring a caricature of Hitler cocking an oversized ear, with the title "Beware" and the rhyming exhortation: "Whether alone or in a crowd, Never write or say aloud, What you''re loading, whence you hail, Where you''re bound for, when you sail." The bottom of the poster further warns: "Above All Never Give Away the Movements of H[is] M[ajesty''s] Ships". The artist''s name appears at lower left, and the bottom right corner bears the publishing line: "Printed for H.M. Stationery Office by G.F. Tomkin Ltd., London, E.11". Shows even toning and slight tears to the edges, with an old pencil price at upper right, else very good. WITH: Broadside-sized poster, 10" x 15", entitled "Telling a friend may mean telling The Enemy", and featuring four illustrations depicting information from an RAF flyer reaching a German spy through a series of conversations. The poster is marked at the bottom right edge: "Printed for H.M. Stationery Office by J. Weiner LTD., London, W.C.I. 51-8685. The verso bears a British Information Services stamp with an address in new York City. Shows even toning with a small pin hole to the top edge and a second to the illustration, with slight chips to the edges, else very good. Two pieces.

Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Please contact us for an estimate before bidding NOTE: Large, heavy or bulky items may not be shipped by the auctioneer - arrangements for shipping of these items via a third-party shipper may be arranged through the auction house. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee. Please allow 2-3 weeks for shipments after receipt of payment due to the high volume of packages being shipped.
