BRITISH HSAT PARATROOPER HELMET
Original British Helmet Steel Airborne Troop (HSAT) Mk III helmet, as worn by paratroopers from late World War II through the Falklands War. The helmet consists of a non-magnetic steel shell, painted dark green overall with a sawdust finish. The interior is painted matte black, and is fitted with three black foam rubber pads face with brown leather, affixed to an alloy band. A brown leather liner encircles the wearer''s head within the pads; this band is marked "BMB" [manufacturer Briggs Motor Bodies], with the manufacturing date "1944" and the size "7 3/4". A harness of four white webbing loops is affixed to this liner, and a black foam rubber pad is affixed within the crown of the helmet. A three-point taupe webbing chin strap with black anodized metal fittings bears a brown leather chin cup padded with white sheepskin. A woven brown and green camouflage net is secured over the exterior. The exterior shows one or two spots of oxidation, with additional oxidation to the interior. The interior liner shows wear and soling, with slight flaking, and the straps shows expected wear and soiling, else very good.

Shipping

Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Please contact us for an estimate before bidding NOTE: Large, heavy or bulky items may not be shipped by the auctioneer - arrangements for shipping of these items via a third-party shipper may be arranged through the auction house. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee. Please allow 2-3 weeks for shipments after receipt of payment due to the high volume of packages being shipped.
