BRITISH ARMY COLONEL''S BATTLE DRESS BLOUSE
Excellent 1940-pattern British Army Battle Dress blouse, constructed of brown wool, featuring a patch pocket on each breast and closed at the front with five black composite buttons, and with an integral waist belt. Each sleeve bears a wool embroidered patch depicting a red rampant lion, the insignia of the 15th (Scottish) Infantry Division, beneath a tartan flash. Each shoulder strap bears a crown above to gilt pips, indicating the rank of colonel. Each lapel also bears a collar tab indicating this rank. Seven ribbon bars appear above the left breast pocket. The interior of the blouse bears a fabric label identifying the manufacturer as Albion Ltd. of Belfast, identifying the pattern and giving size information, and also bearing a War Department "broad arrow" stamp with the acceptance date Oct. 1942. A second size stamp appears adjacent of the label. Very good to fine. Also present is a 1937 pattern web waist-belt, and a modern manufacture khaki shirt and brown knit tie are paired with the blouse for display.
