Description:

BRITISH ARMY ARTILLERYMAN INSIGNIA AND DOCUMENT GROUPING
Good grouping of insignia, documents, etc. belonging to Royal Artilleryman George K. Ricketts of the Royal Welch Fusiliers. Ricketts, whom it appears was mustered in June, 1942, later served during the war with the Royal Artillery and was promoted to Lance Bombardier (one chevron). Insignia include a Royal Artillery shoulder flash, two chevron patches, a Signals patch, 2nd Division shield, 'L' badge (light machinegun qualification), dog tags, and his ribbon badge. Documents and imprints include Ricketts' 'Soldier's Service and Pay Book'; a 2nd Army 'Thanksgiving Service' booklet issued following the German surrender; an Eisenhower safe conduct pass; a November, 1945 identity card, several postwar veterans' documents; and two pieces of souvenir currency. Ricketts would serve with a reserve artillery regiment starting in 1948. Very good.
