BRIGADIER GEN. ISAAC OTT'S A-2 FLIGHT JACKET
An A-2 leather flight jacket owned by Brigadier General Isaac William Ott, size 50, with a well-worn World War II era divisional patch on left shoulder made in bullion with background cloth color loss, squadron patch removed from left chest, otherwise good condition with expected wear. Label inside reads: 'TYPE A-2 BRAWING NO. 30-1415 A. A. F. CONTRACT NO. W 535-AC-27753 PROPERTY AIR FORCES, U.S. ARMY', which corresponds to Apr. 29, 1942 date of manufacture. Beneath is stamped 'Isaac W. Ott'. Ott (1903-1978) served as Deputy Commander of the 401st Air Depot in the European Theater and was subsequently promoted to Commanding General, Air Service Command in Europe and Commanding General of the Base Air Depot Area in Britain, retiring from the war with numerous merits and citations.
