Description:

'BRAVEHEART' FILM KILT ATTRIBUTED TO MEL GIBSON
A wool Clan Wallace kilt believed to have been worn by the film's director, producer and star MEL GIBSON. The kilt, loosely woven in Sir William Wallace's clan colors of burgundy, gray, black and white, measures approx. 64 in. wide and 27 in. tall at its longest. The front third of the kilt is pleated vertically from top to bottom. Black cloth ribbon ties are securely sewn to the wide ribbon fitted to the interior waist. This same ribbon has been marked in broad, black ink with the capital letters: 'PNE CLAN WALLACE 1 MG' Other markings on the kilt include a white tag hand-lettered 'BH.03.5.', and a blue painted number '14'. As Gibson appears in the film in an identical kilt, and as a rule articles of clothing used in films are always named to the actors wearing them, one could safely assume that the 'MG' reference on the waistband refers to Mel Gibson. There is one very small moth hole, else fine. Accompanied by an original blind-embossed and signed certificate of authenticity for a 'Scottish Kilt Used in the film Braveheart' issued by Planet Hollywood, November 14, 2001.
