MARTIN BORMANN (1900-1945) Head of the Nazi Party Chancellery and private secretary to Adolf Hitler, by the end of World War II Bormann had become second only to Hitler himself in terms of real political power. T.L.S. on N.S.D.A.P. letterhead, 1p. Ro., Berlin, Sep. 24, 1936 to the Reigstag Caucus of the NSDAP concerning former Party Comrade Otto Hergt. In part: "...neither in political nor in other respects has anything become known which could reflect unfavorably on [him]...I am sending you photocopies of [his] letters which have in the meantime been received here..." Docketed on bottom, file holes and a paperclip stain at top, else very good. $400-500
