BORIS KARLOFF
(1887 - 1969) American actor who gained worldwide fame for his portrayal of the monsters in such films as Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, and The Mummy. Fine vintage S.P. 10" x 8" b/w, showing Karloff in costume for his role in Charlie Chan At The Opera overacting alongside a dapper looking Peter Lorre. Signed broadly at lower right "Sincerely Boris Karloff" in blue ballpoint, contrast mixed. "1936" is marked in top margin, though note on verso indicates Karloff signed in January of 1949. One vertical crease at bottom to center of image, a few other light creases, tack holes in corner barely intruding on image, otherwise very good.
