JORGE LUIS BORGES (1899-1986) Argentinean writer, one of the most influential of his generation, renowned for his short stories "The Library of Babel", "The Aleph" and others. Excessively rare L.S. in the hand of his mother and amanuensis, and signed by Borges at conclusion "J. L. Borges " 1p. oblong 4to., Buenos Aires, Apr. 25, 1963, in Spanish to Rene Micka, editor of a Belgian literary Francophone periodical. Borges replies to a letter from Micka (included) regarding the publication of a special issue on Vladimir Nabokov. Micka inquires as to whether Borges might contribute to the volume. Borges' reply thanks him for the invitation, but declines on the grounds of his failing eyesight and mounting backlog of work. Boldly signed, with the original envelope. Very good. $800 -1,000
