Description:

Bo Diddley Signed Guitar
Known as "The Originator" because of his key role during the early days of rock & roll, Bo Diddley's insistent, driving rhythms, known as the "Bo Diddley Beat," have influenced generations of performers, including Buddy Holly, Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix. The rectangular-bodied guitar which he designed in the late 1950's, came to be known as the "twang machine." Diddley died of heart failure in 2008 at the age of 79. The 1987 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee has signed the body of this rectangular-shaped Electromatic guitar in black marker "From the Bo Diddley 06." The word 'From' is smudged. Accompanying the guitar is an original photograph of Diddley signing the guitar after a performance at B.B. King's Blues Club in New York City on February 2, 2006, and a ticket from the concert is included. Comes in a Gibson gig bag. MT.
