Description:

Big Brother/Janis Joplin "Rock Garden" Concert Poster, 1967
Billed as a "new concept in night clubs," San Francisco's Rock Garden venue lasted only a short time during 1967, and Michael Wood-designed diamond-shaped posters advertising Rock Garden gigs are rarely seen. This example advertises a Big Brother &The Holding Company six-night stand with Love and CIA (The Citizens For Interplanetary Activity) in March '67. Three months later, Janis and her bandmates were elevated to rock stardom after their show-stopping performance at Monterey Pop! The 17" x 17" poster is EX. with a few light wrinkles.
