Scarce publication: "Hitler in Seinen Bergen" by photographer Heinrich Hoffmann with foreword by Hitler Youth leader Baldur von Schirach (Berlin: Zeitgeschichte Verlag), 1935. Approx. 100pp. 8vo., in the rare brown cloth hardcover with gold title. A compilation of Hoffmann's photographs of Hitler "resting" at the Berghof, playing with his dog, and meeting locals who included Bernile Nienau who appears about halfway through the volume being held closely by the smiling dictator. ROSA BERNILE NIENAU (1926""1943), called "Bernile" who became known as "the Führer's child" because of her close contact with Adolf Hitler. Soon after their introduction, it was discovered that the girl, a favorite of Hitler, was one-quarter Jewish, yet Hitler refused to sever his relationship with her until years later when her mother was ordered to cease all contact with upper-level Nazis.
