BERNARD LAW MONTGOMERY
(1887 - 1976) British Field Marshall who commenced the drive at El Alamein that ultimately drove Rommel from North Africa. Also involved in the invasions of Sicily and France. A pair of A.L.S. 1p. 8vo. each, the first on Headquarters of the 21 Army Group letterhead, Dec. 10, 1944, to Brigadier N. Williamson, thanking him for his letter and sending Christmas greetings. The second is penned from Gstaad, Jan. 31, 1959 to the same correspondent sending thanks once again and adding: "...I am now having a rest in the sun in Switzerland - and am giving the dust a chance to settle down!...". Both very good, two pieces.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
