Description:

portion of an A.L.S. "Your affectionate brother B. Franklin G[rand]. M[ason]. of Pennsylvania," 1p. 12mo., [n.p., n.d.]. This autograph appears on p. 41 in Julius Friedrich Sashe's Benjamin Franklin as a Free Mason, and is dated therein as having been penned on November 28, 1784 although it was most likely written much earlier. Framed with an original leaf of one of Franklin's printed works dating from 1727, entitled The History of the People called Quakers, by William Sewel. This is one of the earliest important printings related to Franklin's shop, which, in four years, would become the largest in the American colonies. Beautifully presented with two vintage engravings of Franklin, accented with marbleized accents and black satin mat, and framed in a lavish gold frame. An intriguing pair of Franklin items, perfect for presentation.
