Description:

(BENITO MUSSOLINI)
Fine lot of two original photographs of Mussolini, 15 3/4" x 11 3/4" overall, both dated 1938. The photos are annotated and signed by ANONIO CASULLI, a noted Italian professor who taught in Naples, Rome and Tokyo, was a member of the Fascist Party's mission in Japan and advisor to Hirohito, and a friend and confidante of Mussolini. The first image shows Mussolini at center, scowling as usual, surrounded by Blackshirt officers. The second image shows Il Duce reviewing documents before a group of naval officers, likely just before a review of the fleet through glass-bottomed boats. The first image bears a few marginal flaws, else very good.
