276. DAVID BEN-GURION (1886-1973) Israeli politician, proclaimed the independence of Israel in 1948, headed the provisional government, and was later Prime Minister. Good content draft typed letter (unsigned) with many revisions and corrections in Ben-Gurion's hand on State of Israel imprinted letterhead, 1p. 4to., Tel Aviv, July 22, 1951, in which he seeks to resolve working conditions in the government sector. The letter reads: "This is to certify the receipt of your letter of July 19, 1951. I have taken note of your communication that your committee will do everything possible to submit your conclusions during the month of August of this year. I already told you during our conversation that both the salaries of officials and the work conditions in government service need a thorough re-organization and reform. I hope that the committee will succeed in offering us a comprehensive solution that will deal fully with the problem at hand." Ben-Gurion's holograph corrections executed in pencil appear in bold. Overall condition is very good. $300-400
