PIERRE G.T. BEAUREGARD (1818-1893) Confederate major general who initiated the attack on Fort Sumter that started the Civil War. He also led with distinction at First Bull Run, Shiloh, and in the defense of Richmond. A.N.S. on a 12mo. Sheet, New Orleans, Aug. 7, 1886 advising a lady "...I have none... ". Toned strips at top and bottom not affecting signature, else very good. Matted with an engraving, set into a gilt wood frame. Not examined out of frame. $200-300
