589. JOSIAH BARTLETT (1729-1795) Signer of the Declaration of Independence, physician and Revolutionary War officer. Bartlett was also the first "President" and Governor of New Hampshire. Early A.D.S. "Josiah Bartlett" as a Selectman of Kingston, 1p. 12mo., Kingston, Sep. 12, 1765, in part: "...Please to pay to Mr. Leonard Judkins four dollars toward Colouring the Meeting House windows &c & it shall be allowed you by us..." Near fine condition.
