Description:

PAUL HAUSSER (1880 – 1972) High-ranking SS commander and instrumental in forming the Waffen-SS. During the war, he rose to the level of army group commander. He led Waffen-SS troops in the Third Battle of Kharkov, the Battle of Kursk and the Normandy Campaign. Hausser was the highest-ranking officer in the Waffen-SS alongside Sepp Dietrich. Rare pair of war-date certificates issued to Hausser, includes: large format certificate of appreciation for his faithful work for the benefit of the German Reichskriegerbund (Kyffhäuserbund), 14" x 17", Berlin, Jan. 30, 1938, an ornate certificate with scenes of Tannenburg and Potsdam, boldly accomplished in blue ink, signed at bottom by SS Gruppenführer and Bundesführer WILHELM REINHARD (1869-1955) was also a member of the Reichstag for the NSDAP and was Chief of the National Socialist Veterans' Association. The second document is an award certificate for fourth place in a shooting competition, 12" x 15 1/2", Berlin, Oct. 28, 1938, the contest arranged by the Reichskriegerbundes Kyffhaeuser and signed by a captain. After the war, Hausser himself lobbied for the rights of SS veterans.

Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, FedEx and DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Please contact us for an estimate before bidding NOTE: Large, heavy or bulky items may not be shipped by the auctioneer - arrangements for shipping of these items via a third-party shipper may be arranged through the auction house. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
