[ Autographs ] Winfield Scott Hancock 1824-1886 Union major general severely wounded facing Pickett's charge at Gettysburg, also active at Antietam, Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville. Exceptional S.P., acabinet photograph 4.25in x 6.5in overall showing Hancock in a post- war chest, up profile. he signs beneath his image: "Winf S. Hancock" and inscribes the image on the verso: "For Miss Lulu Perry, with kindregards, Winf S. Hancock Governors Island. New York March 9, 1881'. Fine condition.
