[ Autographs ] William Ruffin Cox 1832-1919 Confederate brigadier general wounded five times at Chancellorsville, and later led a costlydefense of Ramseur's right at Spotsylvania. Partly-printed D.S. as Secretary of the Senate, 1p. 4to., Washington, Mar. 5, 1895 transmitting to Treasurer Daniel N. Morgan: '...a full and complete list, duly certified, of all persons who were nominated to and rejected by the senate..." Slight thinning of paper at extreme top margin easily trimmed, otherwise fine condition.
