Marcy" 2pp. 8vo., Washington, July 20, 1848, to Capt. F. M. Dimond regarding articles of the Peace Treaty signed May 30, 1848 following the Mexican War. In part: "...Pursuant of the 3rd Article of the treaty of peace, friendship, limits and settlement between the United States of America and the Mexican Republic you are directed to deliver...to such persons...authorized toreceive I it together with all bonds and evidences of debt for duties..which had not fallen due at the date of the exchange of ratification of said treaty...on the 30th say of May last...". Boldly signed and very good, and an important letter with reference to the Mexican War.E100-150
