[ Autographs ] Union Soldier's Letter Union soldier's letter, 4pp. small 8vo., [n.p.], Dec. 13, 1864, in pencil. N. Wilbur writes his wife: ,...we went down the Jerusalem plank road to the black water river ...went across to the Welding Rail Road, tore up 35 miles of it,took one fort, two guns, charged on another but got repulsed. Our loss [probablyl 300 men... tore up the Road, piled the ties, put the rails on & burned them - worked the rails so that they can't be used.. " A few words a tad light, otherwise good condition.
