[ Autographs ] Union Soldier's Letter Union soldier's letter, 3pp. 8vo., [n.p.], Feb 27, 1863, in pencil. With poor spelling John W. writes his brother, mentioning his guard duty in pouring rain, and describes the plight of a soldier arrested for aiding the enemy; a man named Smith arrested in Alexandria and 'the darned fool" confessed to being a member of Stuart's cavalry. The soldier also mentions a Cpl. Jerry Lamon who has deserted the company.
