Description:

[ Autographs ] Sterling Price 1809-1867 Confederate major general who captured Lexington, and fought at Iuka, Corinth and Red River as well. The war left him a broken and impoverished man. D.S. 1p. 4to., Chantin Circuit Court, Feb. 27, 1841 wherein Price signs a depositionconcerning a claim he has made against another man for: "...board, lodging, meat, drink, and other necessaries found and provided for the said defendant... and provided for the defendants horse... has absconded from his usual place of abode...' Light toning with fold reinforced on blank verso, slightly trimmed at top, otherwise fine.
