G[eorgel W[ashington] Custis Lee Savannah, Ga., some of Capt Gilmer U.S. Engineers, which you will much oblige me, by having shipped to Savannah by either the line of Packets most convenient to you. Please take a bill of lading & send it to me on your return here. Very Resp'y R. E. Lee'. A fine association of father and son, both of whom would, of course, serve the Confederacy with great distinction. Dime-sized chip in left marginaffects two words in text, glue show-through in bottom margin would mat-out. Nicely matted with a photo of the two in uniform, all encasedin a gold frame.
