Description:

[ Autographs ] RICHARD M. NIXON (1913 - 1994) Thirty-seventh President of the United States who led during the Vietnam War, re- opened diplomatic ties with China and the U.S.S.R., resigned his office due to the Watergate scandal. Exceedingly rare check signed "Richard Nixon", 8 1/4" x 3 3/8", from the account of "Richard Nixon" and "Patricia R. Nixon", drawn on the Bank of America in San Clemente,October 16, 1979 making a E500.00 donation to the "ROBERTO CLEMENTE MEMORIAL FUND" in care of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Nixon was a die-hardbaseball fan, and here takes the opportunity to give something back. Punch cancel well clear of the signature, fine condition, double- matted with an image of Clemente and set in a black frame. Nixon checks are among the rarest of Presidential checks, and this is a superb association item!
