[ Autographs ] PIERRE G. T. BEAUREGARD (1818 - 1893) Confederate major general who initiated the attack on Fort Sumter that started the Civil War. Beauregard also led with great distinction at First Bull Run, Shiloh, and in the defense of Richmond. Excellent S.P., a carte-de-visite photograph of Beauregard showing him in a suit from the chest, up signed at the bottom of the image: "G. T. Beauregard 1866. Backstamp by S. Anderson, New Orleans.
