Description:

[ Autographs ] Paul Revere's Bible 1735-1818 American silversmith and patriot who rode from Boston to Lexington to warn of the advance of the British, also designed the first printed Continental currency and the colonies' first official sea]. One of Paul Revere's Bibles, a British-printed King James version measuring about 10in x 15in, 1500+ pages, bearing Paul Revere's personal printed bookplate affixedto the rear cover pastedown! It is impossible to ascertain the exact date of printing of the Bible, but it certainly predates the Revolutionary War. It was common for many families to have several copies of a Bible, this particular edition bears no notes save some partial documents (not in Revere's hand) used to reinforce map folds. An exciting relic of one of America's greatest patriots! In rough condition, with covers and about thirty pages detached, a few pages missing, detached pages bear toning, chipping and tears at margins, contents appear are very good.
