Nathaniel Dilhorn describing preparations for war with Mexico, in part: "...You are I presume awareof the requisition made by the general government upon this state for volunteers...our regiment are all well uniformed...well provided for with tents, provisions, and have the best of water...I am first Lieutenant in the Perry Rifle Corps, under the command of Captain Jones...our rifle Corps is in Major Trail's Battalion.
